It works well for the game and makes perfect sense to be stranded on a beautiful island, but that’s about it. Basically in a nutshell you and the other three people are immune to the zombie virus and are trying to survive and at the same time figure out who’s behind all this and figure out what’s going on.
Do not expect an amazing thrilling drama ride throughout the course of the game. As far as the story itself, it’s nothing we haven’t seen or heard of before in movies or video games. The story in Dead Island: Riptide picks up right after the end of the original game and continues on from there. Techland does a decent job at making the Island beautiful and lush and yet very dangerous and somewhat scary at times. The Dead Island universe was always about immersing players on a beautiful island that is overrun by the civilians who are now zombies that have become an unstoppable force of nature. Dead Island franchise combines MMORPG elements such as talents, leveling up, different qualities of loot and just any basic MMO principle you can think of really.
You might also want to pick up collectibles as you go along so once again you won't need to grind them out at the end.įor the most part Dead Island Riptide is an enjoyable game and won't give you much hassle on your road to completion.Ead Island: Riptide is a direct sequel to the critically acclaimed zombie apocalypse Dead Island. I recommend you familiarize yourself with a lot of the achievements before you begin, as several of them require you to get a certain amount of kills with certain weapons and it goes without saying that knocking these out whilst you play will save you grinding them at the end of the game. It doesn't really matter who you pick as every character can hold any weapon, so just choose who you like the look of. You will be able to choose which character you play the game with.
If you haven't played the original or you haven't got a character to import don't worry as I will be explaining the achievements as though you were starting from scratch anyway.
Depending on what level you were in the previous game, importing your character could unlock you the level 50 based achievement right off the bat. It is also worth noting that if you played the first Dead Island game you are able to import your character to this game.
